The Davenport Church of God is affiliated with the Church of God Denomination based in Cleveland, Tennessee. If you would like to know more about our doctrine, try our "beliefs" link. Briefly, we are Evangelical and Pentecostal. As for our local body, we were established in 1966.
Our Senior Pastor, Dale McCracken, is husband to Misty and father to two sons Noah and Alexander and now a little baby girl Breeley. Pastor Dale is a fiery, bold preacher who is not afraid to dream big. When you visit our church, be sure to introduce yourself to the pastor and his family because they strongly wish to meet you. We have ministries devoted to the family structure. This means we seek to build strong marriages through marriage classes. We recently created an infant nursery connected to the sanctuary. Next is a completely redesigned nursery for the older children. Kids love coming to our children's church located in "the house" (former parsonage) next door to the sanctuary. Often we bring in bounce houses. Youth Pastor, Pete Piotrowski, has a passion like no other. Check out ONE destiny YOUTH's own website here. For people of all ages, Master Randy Thompson (black belt) offers physical, mental, and spiritual training in Tae Kwon Do. Finally, we reach out to families in our local community with Project Compassion. In short, Project Compassion is a food bank ministry. Our Wednesday Night services are "fluid." We do have a traditional youth group service (ONE DESTINY YOUTH). The adults, however, have a lot on our plate. Wednesday Night is "Project Compassion." This is the night we get involved in acts of service towards the community. As of now, that takes shape as a food bank ministry. We give to local families in need. A lot of time and effort is required to pull this off, so YOU are needed.

Mission Statement:
"The mission of the Church of God is to perpetuate the full gospel of Jesus Christ in the Spirit and power of Pentecost." (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:1-6)

Declaration of Faith:
The Church of God believes the whole Bible to be completely and equally inspired and that it is the written Word of God. The Church of God has adopted the following Declaration of Faith as its standard and official expression of its doctrine.
We Believe:
1. In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
2. In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
3. That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
4. That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
5. That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
6. In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.
7. Holiness to be God's standard of living for His people.
8. In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
9. In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
10. In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
11. Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.
12. In the Lord's Supper and washing of the saints' feet.
13. In the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.
14. In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.

FOOD BANK - AKA "PROJECT COMPASSION"
Project Compassion is an ongoing work of the Davenport Church of God. A work taken on because of the leading of the Holy Spirit. Our Pastor, and other leaders, feel the vision for the church is to not just learn the word but be doers of it. From this, the Church has decided to reach out to our local community through a food bank ministry. We're in the early stages of this work and therefore much is needed. Read on to find out how you can get involved

WHAT YOU CAN DO
The first thing you can do is check out the shopping list. However, we don't just ask for people to give items, but also of their financial means. Just label an envelope during service for "Project Compassion."
Next, you can get involved in picking up the food from food banks. Use the contact link to find out when we're going. If you can't go then, maybe you can help unload the food from the truck at the church.
Do you know someone or some ministry that we can benefit from their knowledge on these matters?
Do you speak a foreign language. Mostly we need Spanish speaking volunteers, but other languages may come in handy as well.

holds an Associate Master Instructor Degree with
the USCDKA. In 1997, instructor was inducted
into the Black Belt Hall of Fame,
for Ministry in Tae Kwon Do.
Davenport Church of God CTU is an outreach ministry of our church. Our goal is to be able to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ while using the martial arts to teach discipline, self respect, and individual confidence. In other words, building the body, mind, and spirit. Each class consists of one hour of
exercise and Tae Kwon Do skills and techniques followed by a half hour Bible study.
The school is a chartered member of Christian Tae Kwon Do University (CTU), which is the ministry branch of the U.S. Chung Do Kwon Association (USCDKA).
Annual Dues: $30. These dues are paid to the U.S. Chung Do Kwon Association. This is the organization which provides our School Charter, Instructor Credentials, Student Credentials, and the Students Promotion Certificates.
Monthly Dues: $15.00. These dues are put in a savings account administered by the church. It is used to pay for school expenses, equipment, supplies, and materials. Students who keep their dues current will have their tournament fees paid. The Instructors receive no payment for their instruction time.
